Sequencing and MEV Revenue
Rollup Revenue
Chains earn more revenue on NodeKit. Chains keep 100% of the sequencing fees generated on their chain, earn from cross-chain transactions originating from or going to their chain, and can elect to earn through MEV, though protective measures can be taken to prevent MEV. It is a core value of NodeKit that rollups retain all prior revenue sources while unlocking the ability to earn more through MEV and cross-chain transactions in order to ensure sovereignty.
MEV Revenue
Chains can monetize on MEV by selling the building rights for individual blocks. Chains can monetize by individually determining the revenue sharing between the chain and the Javelin builders, allowing for the system to be incentivized and sustainable. This is done by modifying how PBS is typically done. On Ethereum the builder includes a payment to the validator in the block and changes the fee recipient to their own address which is where the builder makes their profit. On NodeKit, rollups can elect to modify the payouts to builders to incentivize the building of their block. A similar mechanism is used to distribute the rewards for the cross-chain top-of-block fees across participating chains.
